If the yacht is damaged during the sailing trip, the charter company can withhold the deposited amount in whole or in part. Deposit insurance covers this financial risk. Important: With the Hamburg Yacht Insurance Schomacker, there is no deductible. Covered are, among others, paint scratches, sail damage, engine and transmission damage, as well as the loss of fenders.
If the skipper or a crew member cannot start the trip due to an insured event, the costs for the entire charter trip or the individual share will be reimbursed. This insurance covers damages to the charter yacht in the event of proven gross negligence. Additionally, claims for damages between crew members, security deposits in foreign ports, and compensation for charter failures for the owner are covered.
