In summer 2021, a project close to our hearts began: “Sail for Kids”. As CEO of CHARTERBAR Yachting and a passionate sailor, together with my wife Steffi, I had the vision of enabling children growing up in difficult conditions to experience the joy of sailing. Thinking about the upcoming sailing trips with my daughter Emilia and the unforgettable moments on the water, the desire grew to share these experiences with others - especially with children who are often denied such trips.
Our idea took shape in collaboration with a children's home in Würzburg. It quickly became clear that the project would be more than just a sailing trip. Together with committed partners such as Spreadshirt, GARMIN and Bürstner Wohnmobile, we were able to raise the initial funds to bring “Sail for Kids” to life.
The first trip exceeded all our expectations. Dolphins, starry nights and the sparkle in the children's eyes made this trip an unforgettable experience. The reserved children became a courageous crew who enjoyed life to the full. For the supervisors and us as organizers, it was moving to see how much a sailing trip could make a difference in the lives of these children.
